Polished Goth

I have always loved a bit of the goth look, not the goth look that teens buy and wear at that weird store Hot Topic and certainly not Marilyn Manson’s goth look, but the goth look that is usually seen in Tim Burton films and is based on Victorian fashion, a look often seen in Alexander McQueen and Moschino runway shows. This goth style always seems so decadent, dark and mysterious. Seeing how I can not walk around looking like a character in a Tim Burton film, I am always on the look out for pieces that have a bit of a Gothic feel but are still polished.

When I saw this cowl neck sweater from Theory, I instantly envisioned it with a black pencil skirt, cool Victorian goth jewelry, a pair of Moschino oxford pumps and opaque black tights. Plus, I think it would look cute with jeans too. The leather tie belt gives it a funky yet polished look that will accentuate the waist.
