The Shirtdress

A shirtdress (ˈsʜ ərtˌdres) is a style of dress which borrows details from a man’s shirt. These can include a collar, a button front, or cuffed sleeves. Often, these dresses are made up in crisp fabrics like cotton or silk, much like a men’s dress shirt would be. As they are typically cut without a seam at the waist, these dresses often have a looser fit, usually relying on a belt to define the waist. Button fronts and a forgiving fit make this a flattering look for most body types. (courtesy of Wikipedia)

Every woman should have at least one shirtdress in her closet due to their extreme versatility and as mentioned above they are extremely flattering on all body types. I am absolutely loving this beyond gorgeous silk jacquard shirtdress from Tucker. It is feminine and elegant without trying too hard and will make your legs look  miles long when paired with sky high nude heels. It comes with a matching fabric belt but it will also look great paired with a skinny or thick waist cinching belt. Keep accessories to a minimum, maybe just some thin gold bangles and diamond studs and let your tan, shimmering skin be the main accessory to play off the pale peachy fabric.
