It looks like celebrity stylist extraordinaire Rachel Zoe is working on designing a clothing line for us non-celebrities. According to she is working on a clothing line that is 100% accessible to everyday gals and plans for the line to include jewelry, handbags, clothing and fragrances. Rachel Zoe is famous for dressing celebrities like Nicole Richie, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Garner and Cameron Diaz as well as her crazy antics on her show The Rachel Zoe Project. Style Icon

Alright ladies, we have a new style icon and no she is not a celebrity, she is First Lady Michelle Obama. She has shown with her choice of wardrobe that she is a true style icon and I look forward to drawing inspiration from all her fashion choices.

Her day outfit of lemongrass yellow designed by Isabel Toledo was bright, cheerful and elegant, perfectly exemplifying the mood of the nation. I loved the green gloves and shoes (Glacier pumps by Jimmy Choo), very chic. You can read more about Isabel Toledo by clicking here.

The dress by Jason Wu she chose to wear to the Inaugural Balls is stunning! The one shoulder strap is very fashion forward and the soft cream color is striking and the beading is feminine. Truly a dress dreams are made of! You can check out Jason Wu’s website at and you can view his Spring 2009 runway show by clicking here.

Top Ten Trends for Fall-Shades of Gray

The dominant color on the runways for fall was the classic, neutral gray and with it’s many shades from slate to smoky to steel to silver, there’s a gray for all! To keep gray from looking too dreary add pops of bright colors like fuchsia, green, purple, or add sophisticated shades of black, chocolate brown or tan.

Top Ten Trends For Fall-Get Layered

Continuing on with the top ten trends for fall, I will be focusing on trend two, the layered look. Designers were piling on the layers on the runway and topping it all off with a waist-cinching, hour-glass making belt. Don’t be afraid to mix and match different colors, patterns, textures and fabrics to create this sophisticated, grown-up, somewhat boho look. To keep from adding too much weight keep your layers slim and well fitted, like a lightweight billowy silk top under a fitted cardigan sweater paired with a slim pencil skirt, tights and heels, and don’t forget the belt to remind people you have a waist under all the layers. Try this look with fitted, cropped jackets and keep your belt up at your natural waist as opposed to worn slung low in seasons past. Mix it up for fall and Get Layered!

Top Ten Trends For Fall-Full Skirts

The weather outside reminds me summer is still in full swing and has no plans in the immediate future to head on out but the inside of stores are starting to show signs of fall. This fall it seemed like designers could not make up their minds on particular silhouettes so they gave us many options, allowing us to choose what we want to wear. Here are my top ten trends for fall that you will want to add to your closet.

Let me start with the skirt, skirts will be big for fall. After seasons and seasons of the dress being the must have item, designers turned to the skirt to help plump their bottom lines. Pencil skirts remain always popular but full skirts stole the show and are a fun item to wear. Full skirts are the ultimate feminine silhouette and look great paired with tights and ankle boots or sexy heels. Wear them with a chunky sweater, cropped jacket or sleek, fitted button down shirt.

Rachael Ray Scarf Controversy

What is the world coming to? Dunkin Donuts had to pull an ad for its iced coffee drinks featuring Rachael Ray wearing a scarf that a Fox News pundit and right-wing blogger complained looked like a symbol of terrorism because she thought it resembled what Muslim terrorists wear. I think that is just ridiculous especially when I saw a picture of the scarf she was wearing around her neck. It looks like a cute black and white paisley scarf (a great way to jazz up a basic tee as far as I am concerned) and nothing more than that.

When fashion gets drug into the heated world of right-wing pundits and  political bloggers and people get offended by something as simple as a fashionable accessory, it just shows how people will grasp at straws for things to complain about. It was obviously not meant to be a symbol of terrorism but rather to make Rachael Ray look cute and stylish for an ad that was merely selling iced coffees. As far as I am concerned fashion is fashion and should be left at that! You can read the full article about the controversy by clicking here. What do you think? Should they have pulled the ad? The real question should be who made the bag she is carrying, it is super cute!

Jovovich-Hawk For Target

Target has released images of its next Go International Collection from the design duo of Jovovich-Hawk which is supposed to hit stores March 2nd. The collection looks cute and playful and perfect for spring, my only hope is that the quality is a bit better than the last two collections which really looked cheap, because they were so cheaply made, yucky fabric and poor construction. I felt like I was looking at clothes from Wal-Mart (gasp!). When Target first released its high-end meets low-end collections the quality was surprisingly good but it has slowly deteriorated as they strive to pump up their bottom line, but it seems to be at the cost of anyone actually buying the collections. I guess we will see when Jovovich-Hawk hits stores! Here are some of the looks from the new collection and you can see all the looks by clicking here.
