The cardigan is cool again for fall especially in cozy cashmere and a longer, sleeker length. Cardigans are the easiest way to layer up for fall and can be found at virtually every price point and store this season. To keep a cardigan from looking frumpy pair it with a laced trimmed cami or ruffly silk blouse and fitted bottoms like leggings, straight leg jeans and pencil skirts. Don’t forget to add a belt to help define your waist.

Continuing on with the top ten trends for fall, I will be focusing on trend two, the layered look. Designers were piling on the layers on the runway and topping it all off with a waist-cinching, hour-glass making belt. Don’t be afraid to mix and match different colors, patterns, textures and fabrics to create this sophisticated, grown-up, somewhat boho look. To keep from adding too much weight keep your layers slim and well fitted, like a lightweight billowy silk top under a fitted cardigan sweater paired with a slim pencil skirt, tights and heels, and don’t forget the belt to remind people you have a waist under all the layers. Try this look with fitted, cropped jackets and keep your belt up at your natural waist as opposed to worn slung low in seasons past. Mix it up for fall and Get Layered!

The weather outside reminds me summer is still in full swing and has no plans in the immediate future to head on out but the inside of stores are starting to show signs of fall. This fall it seemed like designers could not make up their minds on particular silhouettes so they gave us many options, allowing us to choose what we want to wear. Here are my top ten trends for fall that you will want to add to your closet.

Let me start with the skirt, skirts will be big for fall. After seasons and seasons of the dress being the must have item, designers turned to the skirt to help plump their bottom lines. Pencil skirts remain always popular but full skirts stole the show and are a fun item to wear. Full skirts are the ultimate feminine silhouette and look great paired with tights and ankle boots or sexy heels. Wear them with a chunky sweater, cropped jacket or sleek, fitted button down shirt.

I always love it when fashion companies and designers learn to move on from what originally made them popular and thus create a constantly changing and dynamic line of clothing that I want to buy season after season.

The newest company to brave and accomplish such a feat is Goldhawk. Goldhawk came screaming on to the fashion scene with a very simple silk cami that was embellished with lace or beading and became an instant fashion must have.
