Simply Stunning

Anne Hathaway’s dress and overall look for the Tony awards was beyond stunning. Her Oscar de la Renta dress was sophisticated yet whimsical; truly what fashion dreams are made of! The red satin peep toes were the perfect blend of sassy and sexy and kicked up the gorgeous quotient. Way to go Anne!

Cheap Thrill

I am lucky to have a group of fashionable and computer savvy friends who e-mail me their favorite fashion finds, articles and websites. It is thanks to them I have found many great fashion must haves! One such recent e-mail turned me on to an amazing website, www.lulus.com, that is chock full of awesome fashion forward pieces at wallet friendly prices. I was shocked as I browsed page after page of super cute dresses, tops and accessories each one cuter than the next. Most of the dresses range in price from $28-$79 (many priced in the $30 range). Check it out at www.lulus.com.

Cheap But Still Chic

Banana Republic kindly placed in my e-mail inbox an offer advertising their summer dress event where most dresses are $98 or less. Most of these dresses are a steal at $98 and will be a welcome addition to your summer wardrobe. Available on www.bananarepublic.com.

I love this yellow dress, so bright, cheerful and stylish! Plus it looks like a much more expensive brand.

This origami pleated dress is the epitome of understated chic and will look great paired with gorgeous heels and stacks of bangle bracelets.

Style Icon

Alright ladies, we have a new style icon and no she is not a celebrity, she is First Lady Michelle Obama. She has shown with her choice of wardrobe that she is a true style icon and I look forward to drawing inspiration from all her fashion choices.

Her day outfit of lemongrass yellow designed by Isabel Toledo was bright, cheerful and elegant, perfectly exemplifying the mood of the nation. I loved the green gloves and shoes (Glacier pumps by Jimmy Choo), very chic. You can read more about Isabel Toledo by clicking here.

The dress by Jason Wu she chose to wear to the Inaugural Balls is stunning! The one shoulder strap is very fashion forward and the soft cream color is striking and the beading is feminine. Truly a dress dreams are made of! You can check out Jason Wu’s website at http://www.jasonwustudio.com and you can view his Spring 2009 runway show by clicking here.

Working Girl

Browsing through the BCBG Max Azria boutique I came across one of the cutest and most practical dresses I have ever seen. This mock two-piece dress looks like an elegant white button down shirt tucked into a black pencil skirt but lo and behold it is all one piece, which takes the frustration out of trying to keep a shirt tucked in and looking neat all day.

This dress is stylish, classy and work appropriate (you can add a white cami to keep from showing cleavage). The fun ruffle detail on the blouse and the interesting cut of the skirt look striking. The  silhouette of the dress is very flattering to the wearer. This ultra versatile dress makes dressing for fall a cinch, pair it with peep toe heels now and then when the weather gets cooler wear it with black tights and booties. Available at www.bcbg.com and www.nordstrom.com.

Good As Gold

I always love it when fashion companies and designers learn to move on from what originally made them popular and thus create a constantly changing and dynamic line of clothing that I want to buy season after season.

The newest company to brave and accomplish such a feat is Goldhawk. Goldhawk came screaming on to the fashion scene with a very simple silk cami that was embellished with lace or beading and became an instant fashion must have. It was worn by everyone from celebrities to your next store neighbor and eventually knocked off by everyone from Express to Target. Once the knock offs start coming it is time to change tact and see if they have what it takes to actually create a cohesive line and collection versus one piece and I am happy to report Goldhawk has done just that.

Their line now features elegant tops, sassy dresses, buttery soft leather jackets and pieces that you will want to add to your closet to be worn for many seasons to come. Check out Goldhawk at www.couturecandy.com and www.revolveclothing.com.

Fashionable Invite

I am totally obsessed with Sarah LeClere invitations and stationary. I have always had a bit of a thing for paper products, I look for any excuse to wander aimlessly through stationary stores buying products I so rarely use in this digital world, but I love the look and feel of stationary from old world elegance to punchy colorful whimsical.

It was on one of these trips (I had an excuse as I was planning a lingerie shower for a good friend of mine and needed cute invites) when I stumbled across Sarah LeClere invitations. Being fashion obsessed I instantly noticed an invitation in the shape of a dress on a european dress form. It was so elegant, modern and simply oozed of good taste, I was smitten. So I rushed home and googled Sarah LeClere and saw her full range of invitations each one more delightful than the next.

What makes her invitations so adorable is the fact that they are die-cut in the shape of the object, so they are more visually interesting than a square piece of paper and she tends to use very fashion forward items, such as shoes, dresses and handbags among many other items like a wedding cake, champagne bottle, baby carriage and an elephant, yes an elephant. So the next time you are in need of a great invitation or need an excuse to throw a great party check at Sarah LeClere invitations at www.sarahleclere.com or www.thesocialbutterfly.com.

I case you’re wondering I went with the red high heel shoe for my friend’s shower, it just looked like something she would own!
