Fall Fashion Trends You Will Want To Wear – Boyfriend Blazer

As mentioned before it is all about the boyfriend, boyfriend jeans, cardigans and watches and now you will want to take another page from your significant other’s style book and borrow or buy a boyfriend blazer.

Boyfriend blazers are slouchy, longer jackets that mimic menswear suit jackets and blazers. They are meant to be worn big and loose with the sleeves rolled up and pushed up the arm. They look great worn over a short cocktail dress for dressy events but are also a great go-to for casual outfits. You can wear them loose and open with fitted tops underneath or you can cinch them closed with a wide leather belt. Wear your boyfriend blazer with long necklaces, the long length plays well with the lines of the blazer. They are extremely versatile and if you invest in a good one you will wear it all season long. If the loose boyfriend blazer seems to fashion forward you can still get in on the trend by buying a cute fitted blazer and wearing it the same way.

Cute blazers abound this season everywhere, try on a bunch to find the perfect one. Great styles available at www.shopbop.com, www.jcrew.com, www.net-a-porter.com and www.shop.nordstrom.com.

Fall Fashion Trends You Will Want To Wear – Boot Up

Boots are back in major way for fall! Boots of all kinds from the sexy, edgy over the knee boots to comfy, flat boots to spiked heel booties to slouchy boots in a wide range of colors are available at your favorite stores. Venture out from your basic black leather and instead opt for caramel distressed leather, velvety gray suede or a bright shade of purple. Knee high or over the knee boots still look great with tucked in skinny jeans or leggings and booties can be worn with dark tights and pencil skirts. Invest in a pair of great boots this season! Check out the great selections at www.piperlime.com, www.zappos.com and www.shopbop.com.

Over the knee boot are the new kid on the block this season and you need to keep a few things in mind so that you stay looking stylish instead of trampy. Tone down the color palette of your outfit and boots, keep it to shades of black, gray and cream, avoid looking trashy by covering up with opaque tights, longer skirts and jackets or wear them over a pair of skinny jeans or leggings, avoid patent leather opt for matte leather or suede and keep your other accessories simple, let the boots be the main attraction.

Ways to wear over the knee boots and some of my faves:

Via Spiga from www.piperlime.com.

Maria Sharapova for Cole Haan from www.piperlime.com.

Flat boots are the ultimate marriage between fashion and comfort. Keep from looking frumpy by buying them a interesting color or with fun details and always pair them with sleek, super skinny pants or jeans and keep your outfit monochromatic to elongate the look.

Ways to wear flat boots and some of my faves:

Bandolino from www.piperlime.com.

Being a horse girl I love these Frye Riding Boots from www.piperlime.com.

These super comfy Ugg boots hit three trends, flat, slouchy and gray suede from www.zappos.com.

Pull your short booties back out from last season and invest in another pair in a great color or with interesting details like zippers, flowers or peep toes. Wear them with short skinny pants that hit right at the top of the boots or with dresses and skirts with tights. Avoid tights with the peep toe booties, tights look okay with peep toe pumps but just silly with the bootie, you can wear footless tights and leggings if you want to keep your legs warm.

Ways to wear booties and a few of my faves:

I love this pair of booties from Lamb, the perfect blend of high heel shoe and bootie from www.piperlime.com.

Add a little color to your closet with these purple booties by Charles by Charles David from www.piperlime.com.

Don’t forget to have fun with your boots this season like adding these seriously drool worthy rocker girl boots by Rock & Republic from www.shopbop.com.

Fall Fashion Trends You Will Want To Wear: Revved Up

This fall it is time to get revved up and invest in a leather motorcycle jacket. They are an easy and versatile way to wear the popular “tough luxe” and “lots of leather” trends seen on the runways. A beautiful made, buttery-soft leather motorcycle jacket will be an investment piece that you can wear year after year. Wear it this fall over a ruffly chiffon blouse paired with wide-leg trousers and high-heel booties for a sophisticated daytime work look and then throw it on with a loose, semi-sheer Alexander Wang tee or tank and your favorite pair of jeans (skinny, boyfriend or bootcut) for a casual hip weekend look. They also will look great worn now (before it gets too cold) and this spring with dainty, floral dresses. Buy one that is fitted and has an interesting cut or style without too many details, allow the rest of your outfit and accessories to style it up. Wear it with the sleeves pushed up and let your longer layers peek out. Check out the great selection of leather jackets at www.shopbop.com and www.neimanmarcus.com.

Fall Fashion Trends You Will Want To Wear: Candy Hues

This season instead of telling you what the fall fashion trends are, I will instead tell you of the ones you will actually want to wear. I will leave the main trends to the magazines and guide you through the trends that I will wear this season and that you can wear too. A lot of the fashion trends you see each season are too crazy to actually wear, unless you live in New York or LA, but there are certain looks that will easily fit into your closet and make you look current.

The first trend that I love this season that is so easy to incorporate into what you already have is neon. Bright candy colored hues are elegantly mixed with sophisticated black and gray, giving them a cheerful, fresh look. Opt for one brightly-hued item to jazz up your dark basics. Try a hot pink silk top under a grey pinstripe suit or paired with a black pencil skirt or buy a neon colored skirt and wear it with a black sweater and black tights. Put on a pair of neon tights with a black or gray dress or opt for a pair of bright colored shoes to be worn with jeans. You can always just buy a neon colored nail polish and show your neon support via your nails. This trend will transform your wardrobe into something fresh and fun!

Neon Looks Seen At Michael Kors Runway Show:

Ease into Neon with this super cute top by Ella Moss, the hot pink fabric brightens up the gray. Top available at www.shopnordstrom.com.

I love this bright pink silk top from Nannette Lepore, it looks great paired with the black leather skirt and tights but will also look great with a cozy, thick sweater and jeans. Shirt available at www.neimanmarcus.com.

Neon nail polish can still look sophisticated.

Top Ten Trends for Fall-Wide Leg Trousers

Slim leggings and straight leg jeans and pants are not going to disappear this season but make room in your closet for wide leg trousers because they are in full force for fall. Look for wide leg styles with clean lines in elegant tweed, sharp pinstripes, and sleek satin and pair them with a fitted, belted jacket or frilly lace or floral blouse.

Top Ten Trends for Fall-Richly Hued

Black and gray are omnipresent for fall but there are richly hued, juicy colors adding a bit of brightness and contrast. Purple in all shades from lavender to royal and deep, dark fuchsia are the most popular but look for hints of red, yellow, turquoise and green. Tights are also popping up in bright colors alongside the traditional black and gray.

Top Ten Trends for Fall-Statement Coats

Designers must be anticipating a cold winter because statement coats were all over the runways. So, this season instead of buying a boring basic coat opt for one that stands on its own with a unique color or print or special detailing. Vintage looking faux fur coats will add a kick to you closest and score points for coolness. Not only will a statement coat keep you warm it will look extremely fashionable in the process.

Top Ten Trends For Fall-Full Skirts

The weather outside reminds me summer is still in full swing and has no plans in the immediate future to head on out but the inside of stores are starting to show signs of fall. This fall it seemed like designers could not make up their minds on particular silhouettes so they gave us many options, allowing us to choose what we want to wear. Here are my top ten trends for fall that you will want to add to your closet.

Let me start with the skirt, skirts will be big for fall. After seasons and seasons of the dress being the must have item, designers turned to the skirt to help plump their bottom lines. Pencil skirts remain always popular but full skirts stole the show and are a fun item to wear. Full skirts are the ultimate feminine silhouette and look great paired with tights and ankle boots or sexy heels. Wear them with a chunky sweater, cropped jacket or sleek, fitted button down shirt.
